I organize exhibitions and represent contemporary artists.  

I write catalog essays, press releases, content for web sites, residency and grant applications, and advise on how to organize and publish catalogs and websites. 

 I do online promotion via private mailing lists, blogging, and then follow up via direct contact. I prefer not to make direct calls or visit galleries to promote an artist about whom I have not written. 

 I tour artists, art interested individuals, collectors, and arts professionals from out of town around areas of the city where galleries, museums, art fairs, and open studio events are located.   

 I am at your service to aid you through the process of familiarizing yourself with the difficult and imperceptible aspects of the professional art world, how an artist or art-friendly individual can find their way in it. I am happy to go beyond merely providing information, and will be a guide and adviser for as long as needed.

Art grounds us in an experience that achieves the imprimatur of truth by combining appearances with layers of artifice. Nowhere is this more evident in an art form such as film that relies heavily upon the senses. Graciela Cassel’s films explore the phenomenological dimensions of urban space: the labyrinth of structures both physical and ephemeral. A city presents itself as a massive and endless procession of edifices either near or far, of streets either pristine or decrepit, and of an endless train of strangers who may, in any given circumstance, emerge from anonymity into intimacy with us. Every distance and every dimension of city life offers up myriad possibilities for future experience. This is why they are easy to romanticize, and why they also contribute to a mythology of creative means. Cumulatively they fill the current historical moment with a wealth of imagery culled from the depth and breadth of their personal influences, their passion for figure, form, color, and detail, and their perspective on how the past builds the present with the future always a sidelong glance.
